When We Are Closed

There is a doctor on duty 24 hours a day for emergencies. When surgery is closed, if you call the usual surgery number you will be given a number to ring or be transferred directly to the out-of-hours and your details will be passed to a duty doctor.

You will usually be asked to attend an Out-of-Hours Emergency Centre.

Phone calls to the emergency out-of-hours service are recorded.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
